Well it’s been awhile since I last wrote, but I’ve been busy.
Seriously... I have been!
Plenty has been happening I can tell you! I have a favourite new toy. Well, it’s not really a toy, it’s a book. But it has a squishy cover, funny corners, velcro and great pictures. I look at it, pick at it, munch it, dribble on it and bend it. It’s my new best friend!
I wonder what happens next...
There are lots of things I love to play with. I’m thinking of making a picture book of all of my favourite things. Like Mercury my frog and my super duper fish bowl. Do you know, I thought that I had a new Mum for a second, but she just had a haircut! Daddy played with me in the park while Mummy went to Pebble hairdressers. We had a lovely time, looking at the trees and rolling on the grass. I even tried to eat some leaves, but Daddy took them out of my mouth before I could swallow them. He’s too fast! Now I like to grab what’s left of Mummy’s hair, I think it looks cool.
Check out my Mum!
She looks good huh? There’s more to tell, but I’ll save it until next time.
Ooooo check me out! I am a water baby. Well as much as I can be after six lessons. It feels so good to be in the pool. It’s warm and yummy. Mummy and Daddy take turns swimming with me in the water. I learn things like ‘Coco… ready… go’, which means water is about to go all over my face! I don’t mind water over my face in the pool, just not in the bath when I’m getting my hair washed. In class, I get pulled around on my tummy, jump in from the sides, splash about and get to go underwater!
I do some pretty cool stuff you know. Every week I swim, I play, and I work out! It’s a very busy time when you’re nearly 9 months old, I’m telling you! When I exercise, I do these group classes at the gym-ba-roo. Oh my goodness, my favourite song gets me going at the start of every session – ‘Hello everyone, hello everyone, how are you today?’… but the best bit is, we repeat the song with OUR NAMES IN IT!!!! Unbelievable! As soon as I hear ‘Hello Coco, hello Coco…’ I go crazy. I love it! My friends Cohen, Eddy, Henry and Sofia go too.
We start with songs, massages and actions, then we move on to the equipment. I think my favourite play-thing is the swing. Check me out!
Happy happy swinging!
I got a bit grumpy this week Maybe because I didn’t have enough breakfast, so my face looks a bit unhappy in the next photos. But seriously… I think gymbaroo rocks!
On the twister... the trampoline... and the ball tent
You know, sometimes, I just don’t like spending lots of time on my tummy. I’m getting better, but I never mind at Gymbaroo.
Closer and closer to crawling!
Plus we always end the session underneath a big piece of material with lots of different colours.
Underneath the beautiful material
I wish you could all come hang out under the parachute with me!
Okay… the shopping centre was different today. First of all there were all these shiny, pretty things everywhere. I loved them! Sparkly and beautiful! I kept straining my neck to see all the lovely baubles. It made me so happy. While at the shops, Mummy bought some things from the toy section and hid them away in a bag, quick smart, and wouldn’t let me see them. I heard the word ‘presents’. Hmmmm presents… strange… but the strangest thing was yet to happen. I met a big, round man, in a big, red suit! We waved at the man, but then Mummy put me on his lap. I thought that was okay at first, but then he tried to tickle me… and I realised Mummy was a bit far away… and I cried
Before tickle... and after tickle
You might not see a big difference, but I think you can see the worry in Santa’s eyes. Memme and Dallie, Mummy assures me that there will be a copy, of the ‘good’ photo, coming your way soon. In fact, Mummy bought something else special today, one for us and one for each set of grandparents. I don’t quite get it, but I think you will. A special trinket for the Christmas tree.
My first Christmas decoration
Mummy said it was hard to find the right one, but this was very sweet. I tell you what else was sweet, my new apron. It’s good enough to eat!
I looooove people! But I really love my family people. Guess who came to visit me? POP!
Coco Pops
Hey that has a good ring to it! As soon as he walked in the door, I was so excited! We had a brilliant time. He cuddled me, fed me chicken, yoghurt and banana, he took me for walks outside and read me stories.
We went on a beautiful walk to look at places Mummy and Daddy can’t afford. But look at the view on the way!
Jacaranda dreaming
I love my Pop, and I can’t wait to see my Dallie, Memme and PapaD at Christmas. Mummy keeps getting all dancey and jumpy about Christmas. It better be good!
Oh I did something else really fun. I went on a swing! Up and down and backwards and forwards… why didn’t anyone tell me about this sooner? It’s so cool!
This week has been a bit yuck. I’m in a bit of a grump. Mummy thinks it might be my teeth. Hmmmm… I don’t know what teeth are, I just know that I need a bit of a cry and to throw my weight around sometimes. Like when I’m put on the change table, or in the pram, or in the car seat, or after five bites of food or when I have to put my clothes on. I hate putting my clothes back on! See!
Don't make me wear these cute pyjamas!
Also I hit my head I was trying to go forward, but I kept going backwards. I tried to push forward one more time, but my arm slipped and I banged my head on the table leg. Owwwww! But Mummy scooped me up and gave me a big, fun swing in her arms and I felt much better I think she was a bit worried, but look at my head, you can’t hardly see anything at all!
Mini bump.
It’s that slightly darker patch, above my left eye, near the little red marks on my forehead, and those marks aren’t even from the table. Hee hee… I did that myself, my fingernails are sharp!
I was also really clever. I love play time with my Daddy. He was lying on the rug, holding me up in the air, he opened his eyes wide and said ‘Coco’ and I thought, ‘Cool… target practice’, so I did a neat, petite vomit right in his eye! That’ll teach him!
Oh my goodness! It’s been a really big week. I ate something totally new!
I saw, I munched, I loved!
No, not Mummy’s wallet… something else! When I was sleeping Mummy must have made up this new dish. I could taste some things I already like – like peas and carrots, but then there was this whole new flavour! WOW! It was chicken. Now, I don’t really know what chicken is, but I know I like it. Here’s proof!
Mmmmmmmmm!
I’ve had it three times already and it goes EVERYWHERE! I love squeezing the little bits between my fingers. How cool are fingers?
Guess what? I was on the rug today, and I was on my tummy, and I rolled about three times in a row. That’s a record for me. Mummy seems to get really excited when I stick my bottom in the air too and slide backwards. I have no idea why, but it’s fun when she smiles and claps her hands.
She also thinks that it was funny when I went to sleep the other day. So I’ll leave you with this fuzzy snap of me sleeping. Do you think it’s funny?
Mmmmm, friends, toys and a plush rug? Sounds like an excuse to dress up and par-tay, so Mummy and I went for a big drive to Liz’s place. Oh yeah, there was also something to do with horsies running around a big oval thingy, but I don’t know what that’s about. I just wanted to hang out with my Paddo Posse. Check out the gang (from left to right): Darcy, Sofia, Eva, Lily and me!
Paddo Posse
Missing from the photo is my fave boy Henry, he’s off having some milk. We go swimming together on Sunday’s and he’s gorgeous. A couple of my mates were away too, my dancing queen buddy Eddy, and cutie-pie Cohen.
I had such a brilliant time playing. I sat up on my own for AGES! I wish I could move about like Sofia and Darcy can, because they can crawl. I did manage to kinda shuffle forward onto one knee and my hands… that almost counts… doesn’t it?
I didn’t get any of Mummy’s bubbly drink or big people’s food, but I did feed myself my bottle:
Well it’s high time that there was a central place to find out just what Coco is up to. She’s too young for Facebook and MySpace, so it’s the old fashioned blog that will bring Coco to everyone’s doorstep.
This blog, in earnest, begins here at the 8 month mark, so there will be no retrospective posts. So look forward to new photo and video updates of Coco’s adventures.
