Well my goodness… I’ve been away from my blog for a long time. It’s a whole new year! I have so much to look forward to, but I need to recap on my holiday adventures. I’ve been to Adelaide and Echuca and I had a whole bunch of FIRSTS on the way. I’m exhausted just thinking about it!
Wait... I'll just shut my eyes for a second...
So I’ll start by telling you about my first plane flight. I did it in style. Mummy used some points to buy very special seats for Daddy, her and I. We even got to go to a pretty lounge beforehand to prepare. I was a really good girl on the plane. I didn’t cry when we went into the air, I looked out the window a lot, played with the safety instructions and paper bags, I even had a nap on Daddy. My parents were VERY happy.
These seats are so comfy!
So I’d call that a pretty good start to the holidays! Next stop… highlights from Adelaide…
December is full on! My socialising has really taken off. On the weekend, I went to four things! Lunch, swimming, a picnic and then dinner at a Thai restaurant. There were lots of people to see, and many cuddles to be had from my great aunts, uncles, and my second cousins. Phew! I have a lot of family! Luckily I love EVERYONE and don’t mind traveling in the car or visiting new and exciting places. I also get to wear lots of different clothes which is fun. Here are some of my outfits:
Dress with cardigan & leggings... pyjamas and halo... pretty summer dress
The picnic I went to, was with my little friends, and it was really crazy. There were Mums and Dads everywhere, it was windy, so we had to move spots, but we all got a present. I love the wrapping paper. Here’s me playing with Henry and Lily at the picnic.
No time to talk, must play!
It doesn’t stop there, today I went to my Mummy’s old work, Bell Shakespeare. I had a chat to John Bell, then I had lovely cuddles from Julia, Willa, Michelle, Rachelle, Gilly, Erin and the list goes on! I was very popular.
But the thing I’m most excited about is getting on a plane for the first time, and going to see my Dallie, Pop, Memme and PapaD. Plus my aunty Amber, uncle Nigel and my two cousins Isaac and Amelie.
I’m going to miss my uncles Kit and Todd, aunty Bronwyn and my cousin Addison though I hope I see them soon!
Okay… so I don’t have any teeth, and I can’t crawl yet, but damn it! I can do some things! I can get around, it’s just by sliding backwards. Don’t leave me on a polished wood floor or who knows where I will end up. Probably wedged under the TV table or kicking at the fridge!
I started over near the couch. Travelling backwards is exciting, but tiring...
Also I can clap my hands now! Oh it’s so cool. I even practice when nobody is watching. It’s amazing watching my hands work under my command!
What else… let’s see? Oh yeah… when Mummy reads me the book ‘That’s not my dragon’ I’m starting to remember how the story goes. Each page has a new interesting texture and as soon as Mummy turns the page I put my finger on the exact spot where the new material is. Clever huh? Also, every time we go down to the garage I love the sound of my voice echoing, so I make this ‘Uh uh uh’ sound, so I can hear it. There are so many new things to check out!
We had our last Gymbaroo for the year and we were allowed to dress up in our Christmas gear. Mum put a weird headband on my head… it kept following me…
Hey... what is that above my head?
I’ll save my favourite photo for my Christmas email though… hee hee… you’ll see!
This week I had a really big day. I had all of my baby friends together in one place at the same time! Well, all of my baby friends who live in Sydney anyway. My friend Maddie had been on a big plane ride, all the way back from a place called London. I’m going on a plane ride soon too, but it’s no where near as far. We had a massive picnic to celebrate Maddie visiting… so there were eleven of us babies and all the mummies. Check us out:
Back row – Edward, Me, Darcy, Tom, Eddy; Front row – Sofia, Maddie, Cohen, Henry, Eva, Lily
It was totally full on! There was fruit and crackers going everywhere. I particularly enjoyed squashing banana into the picnic rug. Mmmmmm…. yellow mush. Oh yeah, I also wore a ribbon in my hair for the first time too.
Butter wouldn't melt in my mouth...
I was tres French. I also scared Mummy a lot. I ate some new food she cooked for me at the picnic, and it had such a new texture, that I gagged so much it sounded like I was choking. This was not funny, I realised, as Mummy held me upside down to clear my throat. Oh dear!
It’s been such a big few days, I think I need a nap!
You can tell I’m getting bigger, because my food has changed a lot. I used to just have milk from Mummy and the bottle, but now I’m eating three meals a day, with a bottle of milk after each one, as well as snacks. Amazing! I had my last booby-milk over a week ago. Mummy seemed a bit sad, but I have all these new, interesting foods to eat, so I don’t mind one bit. I still get plenty of cuddles, so it’s all good. Also the coolest thing happened… now when I get in the car, I can see where the car is going.
My seat is facing forward... this is cool!
Did you know that I can eat big people food sometimes? Which is so good, because I keep eyeing off Mum and Dad’s food, and finally I can eat some of it! Watch me eat some of Daddy’s toast when I’m out shopping…
Did you know that I have a new cousin? Her name is Amelie, which is French like my name. Well done Aunty Amber and Uncle Nigel. I get to meet Amelie in about two weeks. So I’m now older than two of my cousins, Amelie and Addison, but Isaac is still older than me. I wish that I could see my cousins all the time
In fact I miss all my family! So say hi to me here on my blog so I don’t feel so far away.
Well it’s been awhile since I last wrote, but I’ve been busy.
Seriously... I have been!
Plenty has been happening I can tell you! I have a favourite new toy. Well, it’s not really a toy, it’s a book. But it has a squishy cover, funny corners, velcro and great pictures. I look at it, pick at it, munch it, dribble on it and bend it. It’s my new best friend!
I wonder what happens next...
There are lots of things I love to play with. I’m thinking of making a picture book of all of my favourite things. Like Mercury my frog and my super duper fish bowl. Do you know, I thought that I had a new Mum for a second, but she just had a haircut! Daddy played with me in the park while Mummy went to Pebble hairdressers. We had a lovely time, looking at the trees and rolling on the grass. I even tried to eat some leaves, but Daddy took them out of my mouth before I could swallow them. He’s too fast! Now I like to grab what’s left of Mummy’s hair, I think it looks cool.
Check out my Mum!
She looks good huh? There’s more to tell, but I’ll save it until next time.
Ooooo check me out! I am a water baby. Well as much as I can be after six lessons. It feels so good to be in the pool. It’s warm and yummy. Mummy and Daddy take turns swimming with me in the water. I learn things like ‘Coco… ready… go’, which means water is about to go all over my face! I don’t mind water over my face in the pool, just not in the bath when I’m getting my hair washed. In class, I get pulled around on my tummy, jump in from the sides, splash about and get to go underwater!
I do some pretty cool stuff you know. Every week I swim, I play, and I work out! It’s a very busy time when you’re nearly 9 months old, I’m telling you! When I exercise, I do these group classes at the gym-ba-roo. Oh my goodness, my favourite song gets me going at the start of every session – ‘Hello everyone, hello everyone, how are you today?’… but the best bit is, we repeat the song with OUR NAMES IN IT!!!! Unbelievable! As soon as I hear ‘Hello Coco, hello Coco…’ I go crazy. I love it! My friends Cohen, Eddy, Henry and Sofia go too.
We start with songs, massages and actions, then we move on to the equipment. I think my favourite play-thing is the swing. Check me out!
Happy happy swinging!
I got a bit grumpy this week Maybe because I didn’t have enough breakfast, so my face looks a bit unhappy in the next photos. But seriously… I think gymbaroo rocks!
On the twister... the trampoline... and the ball tent
You know, sometimes, I just don’t like spending lots of time on my tummy. I’m getting better, but I never mind at Gymbaroo.
Closer and closer to crawling!
Plus we always end the session underneath a big piece of material with lots of different colours.
Underneath the beautiful material
I wish you could all come hang out under the parachute with me!
Okay… the shopping centre was different today. First of all there were all these shiny, pretty things everywhere. I loved them! Sparkly and beautiful! I kept straining my neck to see all the lovely baubles. It made me so happy. While at the shops, Mummy bought some things from the toy section and hid them away in a bag, quick smart, and wouldn’t let me see them. I heard the word ‘presents’. Hmmmm presents… strange… but the strangest thing was yet to happen. I met a big, round man, in a big, red suit! We waved at the man, but then Mummy put me on his lap. I thought that was okay at first, but then he tried to tickle me… and I realised Mummy was a bit far away… and I cried
Before tickle... and after tickle
You might not see a big difference, but I think you can see the worry in Santa’s eyes. Memme and Dallie, Mummy assures me that there will be a copy, of the ‘good’ photo, coming your way soon. In fact, Mummy bought something else special today, one for us and one for each set of grandparents. I don’t quite get it, but I think you will. A special trinket for the Christmas tree.
My first Christmas decoration
Mummy said it was hard to find the right one, but this was very sweet. I tell you what else was sweet, my new apron. It’s good enough to eat!
